Two ADR UK Research Fellows gain accreditation to conduct research using the AD|ARC England and Wales data

We’re pleased to share the news that two researchers will utilise the AD|ARC England and Wales datasets for their own research projects, funded by ADR UK.

Dr Claire Hargreaves (Research Fellow, Lancaster University) aims to provide a detailed picture of farming families and deliver a new farming-household typology in England and Wales. The farming-household typology will be based on characteristics of the farmers, farm household and farm business, and subsequently identify patterns in their health vulnerabilities and engagement with agricultural policies.

Professor Paul Wilson (Professor of Agricultural Economics, University of Nottingham) will estimate and model farm household income, reliance on subsidies, and other income sources in relation to farm household composition and characteristics. The project will compare farm household financial hardship with that of non-farm rural households in England and Wales.
